Jim

Jim Castelaz is a seasoned technology leader, engineer, and clean-transport pioneer who brings a wealth of experience in product development, operational scaling, and mission-driven innovation to Lotstream. As founder and CEO of ArtiCar, a company specializing in electronic heating and air conditioning systems for perishable-goods trailers, Jim leads efforts to ensure temperature control, efficiency, and reliability in cold chain transport.

Before founding ArtiCar, Jim was deeply involved in the electric vehicle sector. He co-founded Motiv Power Systems in 2009, a company focused on developing electric powertrain systems for medium-duty commercial vehicles. Under his technical leadership, Motiv engineered chassis, powertrains, and embedded systems with a strong software backbone—serving school buses, work trucks, specialty vehicles, and fleets seeking to reduce dependency on fossil fuels.

Jim’s engineering pedigree includes studies in electrical engineering and economics; he holds a BS in Engineering & Economics from Harvey Mudd College and an MSEE from Stanford University. His work spans across raising capital, managing complex R&D, driving regulatory compliance, and building high-performance teams around mission-critical objectives. EV Charging Summit & Expo

In his role at Lotstream, Jim serves as Vice President of Operations & Board Member, applying his deep domain expertise to refine systems, processes, and operations so that Lotstream can scale effectively and deliver on its promise of transparency, efficiency, and value for consignors and buyers alike.
